Tree & Shrub Drench

1. How it Works

Fertilome Tree & Shrub Drench is a systemic insecticide designed to protect trees and shrubs from a variety of pests. Being systemic means that once applied, the product is taken up by the plant’s roots and transported throughout its system. This ensures that pests feeding on any part of the plant ingest the insecticide and are subsequently affected.

The active ingredient in Fertilome Tree & Shrub Drench targets the nervous system of the pests, leading to paralysis and eventual death. Since the insecticide is present throughout the plant, it provides long-lasting protection against pests, ensuring the health and vitality of trees and shrubs.

2. Usage

Fertilome Tree & Shrub Drench is designed for easy application. Instead of spraying, the product is mixed with water and applied to the base of the tree or shrub, allowing it to be absorbed by the roots.

For best results, it’s essential to apply the drench during the early growing season or when pests are first noticed. The drench should be applied directly to the soil around the base of the plant, ensuring that it reaches the root zone. It’s also crucial to follow label instructions regarding dosage and frequency to ensure the safety and effectiveness of the treatment.

3. Targeting Specific Pests and Diseases

Fertilome Tree & Shrub Drench is effective against a broad spectrum of pests that commonly afflict trees and shrubs. These include aphids, borers, whiteflies, beetles, and many other chewing and sucking insects. Its systemic nature ensures that even pests hidden deep within the plant or those that burrow into the bark are affected.

Additionally, the drench can help in controlling certain diseases that are transmitted by pests, ensuring that trees and shrubs remain healthy and free from both pests and diseases. Regular monitoring and timely applications can help ensure that trees and shrubs remain vibrant and thrive throughout the growing season.

Watering Tips

  • Our watering advice is based on plants living in a 72 degree house. Porch life or humidity could have an impact on its watering needs.
  • Always use tepid water for watering your houseplants.
  • Broadleaf plants need less water in fall and winter, but you should never allow the soil to completely dry out.
