Plants at our Garden Center
Our garden center serves gardeners and indoor plant enthusiasts from Marshfield, Springfield, Lebanon, and all over Southwest Missouri. Any greenhouse or nursery can sell plants, but we take particular care in choosing our stock. We even continue plant care once plants arrive to ensure you never see a “picked-over” selection. Our helpful staff can help you with planting questions and are happy to load your car. Come visit to see why you’ll never go to a big box store for your plants again.
We carry indoor plants, garden starts, perennials, annuals, hanging baskets, shrubs, and trees so you don’t have to shop around.

Garden Starts
Garden starts are a great option if you’re a beginner, you didn’t plant seeds early enough, or you simply want to know your garden is off to a running start.
Our selection of garden starts changes every year and throughout the seasons. Here’s some of what you’ll find:
Perennials
Perennials are plants that bring beauty to your landscaping or garden year after year.
We carry lots of pollinator-friendly perennials so you can enjoy the pops of color while helping the bees and butterflies right outside your door. Who knew helping the environment could be so fun?
We offer rotating selections depending on the planting season. For example, native flowering plants are popular in the spring while mums sell out every fall. You’ll find many garden favorites or something new you’ve never grown before.
Hanging baskets
Hanging baskets are a great solution for adding color and life when you don’t have a lot of space for pots. They work great on patios, overhangs, and anywhere where there’s a place to hang them!
At Grass Roots, we have a wide selection of pre-planted baskets. You can also pick out a variety of individual plants and have us plant them in the basket you choose.
Grasses
Grasses help prevent erosion, soak up standing water, and look beautiful year after year. Landscape grasses work well for creating privacy, serving as as a focal point or even as ground cover around other central plants. If you’re not sure which grasses fit your design, feel free to ask our specialists.
Shrubs
Shrubs offer visual appeal with both their foliage and blooms. Hydrangeas are a favorite and come in many different colors. You can also find azaleas, lilacs bushes, burning bush, forsythia, rose bushes, viburnum, and other garden shrubs in our garden center.
Trees
We carry a variety of trees for sale throughout each planting season. Evergreen trees are great for privacy and year-long beauty. Fruit trees can feed your family and support local wildlife. Ornamental trees like the Japanese maple add visual interest to your overall landscape. Give us a call to see what we have in stock. If you’re looking for a specific species, we’re usually able to order it in for you as well.
