These split-faced, hollow retaining wall blocks feature a hollow core for significant strength without all the weight. Quickly build large retaining walls with blocks that go up one square foot at a time.
They also have a tab locking system for strength and easy alignment without the need for pins. The narrower taper allows for more substantial wall curvature. You’ll also notice the bull nose finish on the edges, which means the blocks will show less wear and tear over time and work great on curves. Filling the core with gravel adds incredible strength to your wall, allowing for very large builds.
They are perfect for patio retaining walls, pool retention walls, parking lots, and any application where the walls have been engineered. However, engineering isn’t necessary, making them applicable for homeowner projects as well. They also work well for fire pits and fireplace blocks. Since they are only finished on one side, they are not advisable for free-standing walls.

Retaining wall blocks are measured by their front facing square footage.
If you calculate the length x height of your wall, you’ll arrive at the square footage you need. Then divide by the square footage of an individual block to get the number of blocks you need.
(It’s always a good idea to add on 10% to be safe.)
If you purchase by the pallet, simply return the pallet in good condition for a $15 credit to use on your next trip to Grass Roots. “Good condition” means that there is not more than one board missing or broken.
Walls over 4′ tall should be built with GeoGrid reinforcement.
