Ingredients
Sphagnum peat moss: Sphagnum peat moss is a partially decomposed sphagnum moss that is harvested out of bogs. This material is naturally a 4.0 pH, which aids in providing acid to soils that are more alkaline and also in retaining moisture by improving the soil’s ability to absorb.
Horticultural perlite: made from volcanic glass that is heated to high temperatures, which causes the glass to “pop.” It is used to help with aeration and drainage of soils. This helps raise the pH of the soil to 5.5-6.5 and releases calcium and magnesium for the plant’s health.
Calcitic lime: helps in neutralizing the pH in the soil and aids in the uptake of nutrients already present in the soil.
Wetting agents: these compounds help lower the surface tension in the soil to allow water to penetrate more quickly for plant uptake.
